Our Group specializes in the design, construction, and operation of unique and complex research and development facilities, including, as examples, wind tunnels (aerospace, automotive, and motorsports), rocket test stands, climatic chambers, jet engine test cells, acoustic chambers, altitude test facilities, captive trajectory systems, and nuclear facilities. Our projects span the automotive, motorsports, defense, nuclear, and aerospace markets. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining and implementing the ISO9001 Quality System across a multi-discipline technical organization in multiple offices. This position will provide you with an exciting opportunity to manage the overall Quality System, interface with upper management, project management, the engineering team, and customers. This position requires a self-starter, who can both work well independently and in a team environment. Identifying, recommending, and implementing changes as part of Continuous Improvement is a critical part of this job.

Description

  • Coordinate and/or perform quality audits to evaluate implementation of the management system and to identify areas for improvement.

  • Serve as the Quality Lead for multiple offices for the TG and GTO performance units.

  • Update monthly metrics and upload them to internal website. Also participate in meetings with senior management to report on quality status and initiatives.

  • Develop audit schedules and survey schedules. Report results to senior management and track effectiveness of these quality processes.

  • Support the development and modification of management system documentation (e.g. procedures, work instructions and forms) and approve management system documents for assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Drive quality initiatives, challenge the group with innovative improvements, and identify root causes for quality issues.

  • Provide support as needed to ensure effective implementation of Management System (quality) processes and coordinate Employee Council initiatives/meetings.

  • Work with operations sites to facilitate process improvements. Evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions taken.

  • Provide mentoring and training to increase awareness of requirements for quality.

  • Serve as liaison with Home Office to maintain alignment on quality processes and with external parties on matters relating to quality.

  • Track Performance Improvement Notices (PINs) associated with assigned locations and verify effectiveness of corrective actions taken.

Here’s what you’ll need :

Two-year Associate degree or four-year Bachelor's degree preferred (in Quality, Business, Engineering or other applicable field) plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Experience in quality system implementation and oversight is required. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification is required or the ability to obtain certification within 3 months.

Skills required include:

Essential Functions

Will need to wear appropriate PPE (e.g., steel toed shoes, safety glasses, etc.) when working at a lab, construction or operations site. Participation in activities at our operations and maintenance sites will be required to develop an in-depth understanding of our processes and evaluate hazards.

This job will involve working in both an office environment and at operations sites.

Requires travel to support offices/sites in other areas. Trips are approximately 12 times per year and 2 to 3 days duration. Training may require additional travel during the first year.

Requires use of PC/laptop and associated software (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint), and other standard office equipment (e.g., copier, etc.). Requires interface with large databases and graphic software.

Work arrangement is for work to be performed in the office (baseline) during core business hours. Hybrid work arrangement possible for proven performers and depending on project responsibilities.
