At Jacobs, you’ll be a vital member of our New England structural team and will have the opportunity to support engineers on structural and bridge design plans for transportation projects.  

As a Structural CAD Technician, you’ll work collaboratively on multi-discipline projects with other technicians and engineers in the structural group. You’ll apply your CAD software skills and knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices and techniques to develop structural design plans. Construction phase work assignments may include preparing sketches and reviewing shop drawings. You will be responsible for meeting deadlines and ensuring the plans adhere to all internal and client specific quality standards.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Technical degree in computer-aided design (CAD)

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D

  • Ability to produce accurate, neat and effective drawings

  • Familiarity with CAD standards of public agencies including the Massachusetts Department of Transportation 

Ideally, You’ll Have:

  • Associate degree in computer-aided design (CAD), structural drafting/design focus

  • Experience as a structural CAD technician

  • Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, OpenBridge, Navisworks and Revit

  • Solid teamwork and communications skills, including the use of MS Office tools (Word and Excel), MS Teams and Bluebeam
