About the Opportunity

Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West).

Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

Jacobs is seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator who will act to ensure all health & safety requirements (legal and organisational) for the EPR-E office environment are met in a timely manner whilst ensuring compliance with relevant legislation at all times.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Manage and monitor the H&S safety walks process, including placing and monitoring actions where needed

  • Receive, review and manage Learning Reports, liaise with relevant parties to ensure actions are completed

  • Monitor and report on accidents/near misses and liaise with relevant parties to ensure actions are completed

  • In collaboration with the H&S network, ensure sufficient first aiders, training and first aid provisions. Organise training for first aiders where required

  • In collaboration with the H&S network, ensure sufficient fire marshals and management of fire requirements. Organise training for fire marshals where required

  • Administer and monitor the DSE assessment process. Place and follow-up actions where required to ensure necessary adaptations and equipment are provided.

  • Participate in routine H&S meetings & forums; suggest improvements where needed and follow-up employee concerns.

  • Routinely report on H&S-related KPIs to senior management, automating this process as much as possible.

  • Conduct risk assessments on H&S related topics such as first aid, stress and general office safety.

  • Participate in development of the EPR-E mental health / wellbeing strategy.

  • Monitor developments in HSE guidance and legislation, implementing adaptations to EPR-E processes and procedures when necessary.

  • Interface with site-based teams to ensure H&S requirements are also met in this environment.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Knowledge of UK safety legislation and its administration in an office environment

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook required;

  • Power Automate, Forms and PowerBI advantageous

  • Ability to work under pressure, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines

  • Professional and friendly demeanour – able to build relationships at all levels

  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
