As an I&C Engineer supporting our team in Irvine, California, you will develop instrumentation and controls designs (P&ID, wiring schematics, control strategies, and specifications) for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump station rehabilitation, and greenfield projects with minimum supervision. You will also be conducting control systems startups for these projects. You will work with project managers, design staff including electrical engineers, cost estimators, designers, drafters, and other engineering disciplines to provide quality work on schedule and within budget. We partner across the globe to create the best project outcomes by maximizing the design, digital technology, and support capabilities of our Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teammates. You will engage with these teams to deliver solutions to our clients.

Our team is seeking a person who understands the importance of meeting their targeted commitments while being flexible to the ever-changing and fast paced environment of our clients’ sites.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university or college.

  • 8 years of experience as an instrumentation and control design engineer for government, municipal, and/or industrial water and wastewater projects, or industrial private-sector clients such as pharmaceutical, chemical, food products, petrochemical, or pulp and paper industries preferred. Strong preference will be given to water and wastewater experience.

  • Experience in design, testing and startup of industrial process automation systems.

  • Experience with industrial process control networking including Fieldbus technologies.

  • Holds an active professional engineering (PE) license.

  • Strong understanding of NEC and NFPA 820

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, problem solving and organizational skills

  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management

  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment

  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently with minimal supervision

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • Can independently lead plant design activities as an area/system leader and coordinate with multi-discipline designers

  • Successful experience working with and managing remote domestic and international staff

  • Task lead experience, with some staff in remote locations

  • Ability to work with Engineers/ Designers in Revit/BIM environment along with AutoCAD or Bentley P&ID software.

  • Experience with MCC and VFD control requirements

  • Some experience with PLC code/SCADA preferred

The base salary range for this position is $110,800 – $173,150. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
