Opportunitieshave arisen for Project Managers with Highways or Rail experience in either theSwedish or Norwegian markets, and /or a more general Project Manager /Assistant Project Managers with Swedish /Norwegian and English language skills.

Location in Glasgow,London or Manchester would be preferred due to the location of our existing designteams, however, we are willing to consider alternative employment locations inany of our many UK offices. We also have a small office in Sweden which wouldalso be a possibility.


Jacobs islooking for Project Managers who will lead and manage the provision oftechnical consultancy services to major clients in the European Highways sector.As project manager you will also contributeto the solution of technical and resource issues arising within projects. Youwill be expected to establish a collaborative and inclusive project workingenvironment where everyone feels they are able to bring their best and wholeself to work.

You will:

  • Be responsiblefor supporting: resources that are assigned, managing project teams and for dayto day liaison with teams and clients

  • Assistmanagement/reporting requirements and the delivery of the project to therequired standard, on time and within budget

  • SupportJacobs’ growth in the Scandinavian infrastructure market


  • To work withclients and other stakeholders with a diverse range of objectives in thedefinition of a successful project.

  • To complywith all relevant Legislation, Policies and Procedures.

  • To work witha diverse range of specialists and engineering professionals

  • To providesolutions that meet the requirements of clients and Jacobs

  • To supportand encourage the project team members to devise technical solutions that meetthe requirements of clients

  • To promote,support and develop project teams to enhance project and business performance

  • Project management and /or highways or rail design engineeringexperience

  • Broad knowledge of the technical disciplines andcommercial inputs which are required and make up a highways or rail project

  • Member of an appropriate professional body [whererelevant]

  • Experiencein Swedish or Norwegian Highways or Rail design sector

  • Scandinavianand English language skills

You willknow the principles of Project Management, and have the ability to:

  • Effectivelyplan, monitor and control the work of self and others

  • Plan,monitor and control the delivery of projects to clients

  • Communicate effectivelywith others and clients, noting that some of your projects may be inScandinavia as well as the UK

  • Report thecommercial status of projects in accordance with company methods (aftercorporate training)

  • Ensure deliveryto the cost, time and quality objectives of the company and clients

  • Understand thefactors affecting motivation and behaviours of project team members and be ableto foster a collaborative team working environment
