Experienced Engineering Manager

Primary Job Responsibilities

The roleof Engineering Manager is a key role, being responsible for:

  • Co-ordinating all EngineeringDepartment design activities and liaising between discipline groups in order tomaintain an efficient information flow

  • Assisting the Project Manager in allassigned activities, typically this shall include assistance with, andco-ordination of, process design, detail design, procurement, cost engineering,planning, construction, pre-¬commissioning and commissioning

  • Liaising with Discipline Engineers asnecessary in order to establish the basic plan and its logic

  • Serving as a Project Engineer onlarge projects. This is an technical coordination position requiring theexercise of discretion and independent judgment in the coordination of thevarious disciplines

  • Ensure compliance with CompanyQuality, Environmental, Safety and Health procedures

  • Defining, maintaining and monitoringproject specific procedures and quality assurance plans

  • Responding to customer feedback

Thisposition reports directly and is assigned to the PM or the PD in the projects.


Keyrequirements for an Engineering Manager on a project:

  • Fully awareness of the technical andcommercial obligations of the contract, to ensure that they are understood andimplemented by the staff in his area of responsibility

  • Successfully lead and coordinate thedesign of pharmaceutical projects in Europe and gain Clients recognition

  • Experience in coordinatingmulti-office projects

  • Ability to motivate specialists anddiscipline leaders on defined goals

  • Capacity to control and monitordesign, procurement support, and vendor follow up are basic requirements

  • Leadership, commitment and strongtechnical background

  • Excellent problem solving and teamworking skills including being able to rapidly engage with a team



Training & Experience

  • Minimum of a Degree (or equivalent)and proven track record in a project delivery role within Engineering, whichnormally includes several years of experience functioning as a Project Engineer

  • Minimum 8 year experience in ProjectDesign and Coordination of R&D, Secondary Pharmaceutical orBiotechnological significant projects working for A&E design firms, E&Ccontractors or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Companies

Other requirements

  • Fluent German and English languagesknowledge is a must. Knowledge of Italian and/or French language could be aplus

  • Availability to frequent travels orshort/long term assignments abroad is required by the position

  • Multi-office project experience

  • Good communication skills

  • Excellent level of Safety Awareness
