We are looking for a professional Certified Welding Field Inspector to add to our California PM/CM team and work alongside our technical experts to provide contributions to the development of new techniques and standards. Help our team grow by mentoring the early, intermediate and associate professionals while assisting resident engineers and project managers in completion of inspection work in accordance with projects and client specifications.   In this role, you will perform visual and dimensional inspections of welded joints and structural steel components. We will rely on you to ensure that all welding activities are performed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications and verify that all welding equipment is calibrated and maintained in good working condition.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • H. S. Diploma

  • 10 years of field experience overseeing welding construction activities.

  • Current American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector Certification, Nondestructive Testing Level II of Higher certificate, and/or other nationally and construction industry recognized technical certification.

  • American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Structural Steel and Bolting Certification or ICC

  • Knowledge of construction practices and principles Intermediate mathematical skills in order to perform field calculations.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suites and MS Project

  • Ability and willing to travel

  • A valid State’s driver’s license and the ability to pass a motor vehicle background check.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • A technical school graduate or have a Bachelor’s of related to Engineering or Construction Management

Typical hourly rate for this position is $59.00 - $93.00 and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.

Essential Functions:

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of density gauge, supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights, days, nights or weekends.
